Multi-Agency Parole / Probation Compliance Operation

Firearm and Stolen Vehicle Recovered During Search Warrant

On September 30, 2021 at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Region 4 Murrieta-Temecula Regional Gang Task Force and members of the Murrieta Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) served a search warrant at a residence in the 40700 block of Vista Murrieta Road in the city of Murrieta.

Home Invasion Robbery Series

On October 5, 2021, at approximately 3:18 a.m., deputies from the Perris Station responded to the 1000 block of Leopard Lane in the city of Perris regarding a home invasion robbery. Upon their arrival, deputies located two armed males walking away from the residence carrying the victim’s property. Deputies detained Arturo Ojeda, a 19-year-old resident of Hemet, and a 17-year-old juvenile from San Jacinto.

Commercial Burglary Arrest

Palm Desert Station Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) conducted further investigation regarding several commercial burglaries that occurred between the dates of September 10, 2021 and September 25, 2021 within the cities of Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage. The suspect in these cases forced his way into locked businesses, taking merchandise from each location.

Trial starts for California cop who shot mentally ill man

Prosecutors and defense attorneys have presented competing narratives in the trial of a California police officer accused of shooting and killing a mentally ill man, alternately asking the jury to sympathize with the officer’s need to make split-second decisions or the troubled victim whose only crime was not stopping for police.
