The last week or two, the public health numbers have started to rejoin the broader economic numbers with some signs of gradual progress. In addition, interest rates remain favorable and new listings resumed their uptrend last week. Rising mortgage applications and home sales have yet to materialize, but California consumers have gotten slightly less pessimistic about buying over the past month, so the rest of the year is expected to remain at or around the 400,000 unit benchmark through December.

I just read the Letter to the Editor titled, “Hooray for Vaccine Mandates at Hotels,” with the writer thrilled that the owner of Public Hotel is now requiring vaccine proof for their hotel guests. My disappointment from reading a letter such as this is that the writer completely leaves out millions of her fellow Americans who have already had this Corona virus - those of us who now have natural immunity.

It’s official! The results of the Press Enterprise Annual Readers’ Choice poll have finally been released. In a surprising upset, the Historic Hemet Theatre has risen to the top as the Best Local Music Venue in the Inland Empire!

Mt. San Jacinto College's Nursing Program has been named No. 1 in the Best of the Inland Empire 2021. The MSJC program earned the top spot in the Best Community College/Nursing category in the Press-Enterprise's 26th annual readers' choice awards.

Most of us want to live life to the max - feel great, be strong, have purpose. Remember that old Lady Clairol slogan, “If I’ve only one life, let me live it as a blonde?” My upgrade of that would be, “If I’ve only one life, let me max it out and live it for God.” Of course, this is challenging in light of the culture we are currently experiencing, with many opposing our right to even voice our opinions if they don’t line up with their contrary or incompatible ways of thinking.
