Busting ghosts is still a fairly lucrative business after almost 40 years. Heading into Thanksgiving weekend, the latest attempt to revive “Ghostbusters” drew a sizable audience to theaters, while the awards darling “King Richard,” like most dramas in the pandemic era, is struggling.

Joe Biden was never exactly a colossus bestriding the Earth, but he’s been getting smaller by the day. A Washington Post poll over the weekend suggested that his presidency is, for now, a smoking political crater. It had him at a 41% approval rating, despite the passage of his long-sought infrastructure bill that was supposed to buoy him and his party.

What with middle-class Americans starting to reject the woke rule of the educated and credentialed class, does that mean America is ready for a new “fusionism” -- a combination of traditionalism and capitalism of the kind put together by Frank Meyer under the patronage of William F. Buckley half a century ago? That’s what Donald Devine asks at the American Spectator in “Is Conservative Fusionism Dead or Simply Confronting Changing Times?”

Recently, the donkeys at UCR have taken over everyone’s fascination in the Riverside area. Many have become obsessed with spotting these animals this year during the early months of fall quarter. The donkeys have always been present around Riverside, but they have lately become the newest talk of the town as many students changed from online to in-person classes. With more people on campus, a greater cult following has increased for the donkeys resulting in an official Instagram page, @donkeysatucr, whose first post was on Oct. 24 of this year.

Leaders from local Native American tribes, and state lawmakers met with Riverside Unified School District Monday to discuss cultural sensitivity issues. The meeting comes after a video of a Riverside high school teacher wearing a fake headdress and dancing during a math lesson went viral in October.
