Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Fatal Traffic Collision

On Tuesday, July 4, 2023, about 6:53 AM, deputies from Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Moreno Valley Station responded to a major injury traffic collision near the intersection of Iris Avenue x Perris Boulevard in the city of Moreno Valley.  Deputies arrived within minutes and located a collision involving a black Dodge pickup truck and an unidentified adult male pedestrian. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and life saving measures were performed. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. It did not appear alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision.

The Moreno Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
