On June 28, 2022, Palm Desert Station deputies responded to an armed robbery of a jewelry store in the 73200 block of Highway 111, Palm Desert. Three suspects entered the business, held the owner at gunpoint, and stole jewelry before fleeing the store.
Researchers reported new findings from a clinical trial of letters to promote safer and better-informed opioid prescribing. The study, which aimed to encourage clinicians to check on patients in a state database before prescribing them opioids, reported significant and durable gains toward this goal. The research will be published in the January issue of the journal Health Affairs.
On Friday, January 6, 2023, at 12:06 PM, Palm Desert Deputies responded to a victim who had just been robbed at gunpoint. The victim told deputies he met with the suspect to sell him an Apple iPhone. Instead of providing money, the suspect removed a handgun from his waistband and told the victim to give him the phone.
On Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 3:01 P.M. Deputies from the Moreno Valley Station Special Enforcement Team-Gang Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which was being driven with actions indicative of an impaired driver.
