VA proposes rule that would waive copays for eligible Native American and Alaska Native Veterans

The Department of Veterans Affairs proposed a rule that would waive copayments incurred on or after Jan. 5, 2022, for eligible American Indian and Alaska Native Veterans. Upon publication of the notice, there will be a 30-day period for the public to provide comments on this rulemaking. VA will review the comments and develop the final rule.

On January 10, 2023, around 11:11 a.m., deputies responded to the area of Lasselle Street and Iris Avenue regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

On Monday, January 9, 2023, at 4:47 PM, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Station responded to Melinda Lane and Corydon Road in Wildomar for a report of a shooting. Deputies arrived within minutes and did not locate any victims or evidence of a shooting.

Armed Robbery Suspects Apprehended

On June 28, 2022, Palm Desert Station deputies responded to an armed robbery of a jewelry store in the 73200 block of Highway 111, Palm Desert. Three suspects entered the business, held the owner at gunpoint, and stole jewelry before fleeing the store.
