Possession of an Unregistered Firearm (Ghost Gun)

On Sunday, April 11, 2021, about 6:00 PM, members of the Jurupa Valley Patrol Station Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Magnolia and McKinley in the unincorporated area of Home Gardens. While speaking with the driver, who was later identified as 24-year-old Samuel Orajel, a resident of Home Gardens, SET deputies learned Orajel had a warrant for his arrest. As they began to remove Orajel from his vehicle, SET Deputies discovered Orajel was sitting on a loaded firearm. Orajel was immediately placed under arrest without incident.

There’s no question that the coronavirus pandemic has hit the Golden State’s seniors hard. Californians age 65 and up make up just 15.6% of the state’s overall population, but state data indicates they account for 74% of coronavirus-related deaths. The statistics are even more stark for the very oldest residents — those 80 and up. That group makes up less than 4% of the population but accounts for nearly 40% of fatalities linked to COVID-19.

Stanbridge University Expands Nursing School to Riverside

Stanbridge University is pleased to announce its new Riverside Campus. Pending approval from state boards, the Riverside campus will launch with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Vocational Nursing programs. Classes are slated to begin in the Summer of 2021. Riverside is the newest addition and third campus for Stanbridge with two current locations in Orange County and Los Angeles.

Felony Evading / Stolen Vehicle

On Saturday, April 10, 2021 about 10:31 A.M., deputies with the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station initiated a pursuit of a stolen vehicle. The driver, later identified as Noel Avalos (28 transient), fled from law enforcement and drove in a reckless manner. At about 1036 hours, the pursuing units discontinued the pursuit when the Sheriff’s helicopter was in place to follow the suspect.
