The second half of the school year has been strange for students across the country but seniors at the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians’ Noli Indian School persevered to earn their diplomas.
Shortly after its first anniversary in March, the Soboba Casino Resort temporarily closed amid the coronavirus pandemic. The novel COVID-19 disease left people staying home and businesses closing their doors and furloughing employees.
The Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians Youth Council wanted to be sure that military veterans buried at the Soboba Cemetery were properly honored for their service to America by hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony on May 25.
As many businesses throughout Riverside County slowly start to reopen, there are a lot of residents that are relieved they can start enjoying past fun activities. Golf courses reopened at the end of April and Soboba Springs Golf Course has had sold-out tee times since then.
When the coronavirus pandemic began to take hold and folks were told to shelter in place and be careful when going out only for essential services, it became clear that precautions needed to be taken to ensure the well-being of Soboba Reservation residents.
