San Jacinto Valley students honored in January

The Hemet/San Jacinto Student of the Month program held its most recent recognition event at the Maze Stone restaurant at Soboba Springs Golf Course, Jan. 27. Seven local high school seniors were recognized and honored for their character, love of learning and commitment to academics in addition to their involvement in school and community activities and their ability to overcome difficult life challenges.

NOLI INDIAN SCHOOL 4H PROGRAM WELCOMES DONATION

The now-defunct Soboba Livestock Association has found a way to continue its original mission of education by donating funds to Noli Indian School’s 4H program. Formed on July 28, 1977 with about 30 members, the Association’s founding officers were President Marion Silvas Sr., Vice President Norbit Arres, Secretary Donna Silvas and Treasurer Marian Chacon.

Mt. San Jacinto College, Beaumont Unified School District Partner to Create Middle College High School in Banning

The Mt. San Jacinto Community College District (Mt. San Jacinto College/MSJC) and the Beaumont Unified School District are excited to announce a partnership to launch Beaumont Middle College High School (BMCHS), a program that is intended to provide a seamless pathway for students from high school to community college.

As part of a yearlong Black 365 initiative by Mt. San Jacinto College's Black student and leadership groups, MSJC will host a virtual public event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Thursday, Jan. 27.

I’ve had a number of requests to investigate the telephone system for connecting with a doctor (if you have an HMO). I went into this blindly, wondering what on earth were they talking about. Just pick up the phone and connect to the doctor’s office. Right? Not so fast.
