Gang Task Force Recovers Illegally Possessed Firearms During Search Warrant
On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 7:00 a.m., the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, with the assistance of Riverside County Gang Task Force Region 2 and Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit, served a search warrant at a residence located in the 66000 block of Desert View Avenue in Desert Hot Springs.
Female Fire Starter Arrested for Attempted Murder
On August 15, 2023, at 6:03 a.m., deputies received a 911 call of an apartment building on fire in the 140 block of Tiger Lane, San Jacinto. Upon arrival, the deputies discovered a structure on fire.
Attempted Armed Robbery at a Business
On August 14, 2023, at 11:36 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a robbery in-progress near the 12000 block of Frederick Street, Moreno Valley.
In-Custody Death
On August 14, 2023, at 12:36 a.m., deputies from the John Benoit Detention Center found an unresponsive male in a housing unit cell. Custody staff and jail medical personnel immediately administered life-saving measures. Paramedics responded and assumed life-saving measures. However, he was ultimately pronounced deceased.

On July 13, 2023, the Palm Desert Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation and developed investigative leads implicating Adrian Fuentes, a 26-year-old resident of Indio.
