On April 28, 2022, at about 12:00 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff Station responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Frederick St. n/of Alessandro Blvd., Moreno Valley. Deputies arrived within seconds and located a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 9:30 A.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force with the assistance of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) served a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of Arroyo Vista Drive in Palm Springs. During the service of the search warrant Gang Task Force Officers located suspected cocaine, body armor and multiple illegally possessed firearms including an SKS Rifle, AR-15, 12-Gauge Shotgun and a 9mm Semi-Auto Handgun.
Former high school teacher, track and field coach, and cross-country running coach Joe Robles, Jr. – who is currently serving a four-year prison sentence after being convicted of multiple felony sex crimes – has been named in a civil action alleging that he sexually assaulted at least five children between the ages of 14 and 17 between 2014 and 2017, during the time Robles was employed at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Riverside County.
During the course of this investigation, a suspect was identified in this case. On April 21, 2022, the Central Homicide Unit and Major Crimes Unit served a search warrant at a residence in 15500 block of Morada Rd., Victorville. Reginald Trice III, an 18-year-old resident of Victorville, was arrested for murder, and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
On March 4, 2022, the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT) conducted a sex trafficking investigation that occurred in the cities of Palm Desert, Indio and Desert Hot Springs. During the investigation, seven victims were identified which were all minors. RCAHT members learned Dewayne Williams, a 32-year-old resident of Indio, was involved in human trafficking of a minor.
