State authorities are investigating after members of a Riverside County gang task force shot and killed a man suspected of selling fentanyl in Hemet last week.
Three officers on trial for allegedly violating George Floyd’s civil rights would have been trained to use the least amount of force necessary and had a duty to intervene against inappropriate force, the commander of the Minneapolis police training division at the time of Floyd’s killing testified Thursday.
On January 19, 2022 members of the Murrieta/Temecula Regional Gang Task Force (GTF) participated in a day long probation compliance check operation coordinated by the Riverside County Central PACT Team (Post-release Accountability and Compliance Team). The operation took place in the City of Temecula.
On Thursday, January 20, 2022 three local schools received threats of an explosive device from an unknown phone number. The caller in each of the phone threats appeared to be the same person, and made similar threats to each school.
On January 21, 2022, at 8:36 P.M., Southwest deputies conducted a vehicle stop in the area of La Paz Road and Temecula Parkway for equipment violations. Deputies contacted the driver, who initially provided a fictitious name to conceal his identity.
