HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — During a particularly violent week in Connecticut’s capital city, Andrew Woods was among a small number of anti-violence workers who rushed in to help victims’ families, offering condolences and referrals to services while trying to discourage retaliation.
On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, members of the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) with the assistance of the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT), and the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District (SCVCSD) conducted a sex trafficking operation in the city of La Quinta.
On June 23, 2021, at 7:00 AM, Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 and Region 6, along with the Riverside County Emergency Service Team served a search warrant in the 1300 block of East Lincoln Street in the City of Banning. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing gang investigation into Southside Beaumont Gang members involved in the sales of illegal narcotics and guns. Gang Task Force Officers located a shotgun, a stolen handgun and over four-hundred ammunition rounds at the location. Additionally, Gang Task Force Officers located one pound of honey oil wax, four ounces of Psilocybin mushrooms, over one hundred vape pens containing THC, one pound of marijuana and fifty fraudulent CDC COVID-19 vaccination cards. Gang Task Force Officers also seized $7,500.00 in U.S. Currency.
On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, Lake Elsinore Sheriff Station Investigators concluded an ongoing investigation regarding a past sexual assault, that occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Prospect Street, Lake Elsinore.
Throughout the month of June, the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of a man driving a silver Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) brandishing a gun and threatening to shoot people while driving erratically through city streets.
