Puerto Rico is facing an ongoing emergency caused by gender violence. In response to more than three years of feminist claims and demonstrations on the streets, Gov. Pedro Pierluisi issued an executive order in January 2021 in which he pledged to bring together the island’s agencies and organizations to deal with the crisis.

The case against Dr. Grant Robicheaux and his girlfriend, Cerissa Riley, has taken an interesting turn. The Newport Beach physician and his partner were charged with drugging, kidnapping, and sexually assaulting several women in 2018, and it seems the case has now become somewhat of a political football in the state of California.
Three Inland Empire women have pleaded guilty to federal criminal charges accusing them of using information belonging to other people – including California US DOJstate prison inmates – to file for pandemic-related unemployment benefits, with each defendant causing at least $350,000 in losses.
On Tuesday, June 15th, 2021, around 4:40 PM, Border Patrol agents working routine patrol, in plain clothes and driving unmarked patrol vehicles, encountered a suspect who they had been informed was armed and wanted for assault with a deadly weapon by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. The suspect was driving southbound on Interstate 15, near Lake Elsinore, CA. Agents followed the suspect for several minutes before he exited the highway and parked at a gas station. When agents attempted to take the man into custody, he drove his vehicle toward the agents and struck two Border Patrol vehicles as he fled the area. Border Patrol requested assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
