Local Service Clubs support local businesses
On Friday Aug 7, the Hemet Rotary and San Jacinto Lions teamed up to CA$H MOB local restaurant, El Patron. Thirty members of the two clubs met for dinner. They plan to CA$H MOB local businesses through out the coming months.
Census Takers Start Following Up With Nonresponding Households in Southern California
Census takers throughout Southern California have started following up with households that have not yet responded to the 2020 Census. The current self-response rates in each of the five counties within the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area are:
WORK PROGRAM AT SOBOBA RESERVATION GRANTED
With the help of grant funds from the Northern California Indian Development Council (NCIDC), the Soboba Public Works Department was able to implement a program to take care of much-needed cleanup and repair from federally declared disasters at the Soboba Indian Reservation.
Robbery Arrest – August 10, 2020
During the months of July and August 2020, members of the Moreno Valley Station Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) began investigating a series of armed robberies that occurred in the city of Moreno Valley. During each of these robberies, the suspect would enter the business dressed in dark clothing, select an item for purchase and when the clerk would open the cash register, the suspect would brandish a firearm and demand money.
Stolen Vehicle / Drug Paraphernalia Arrest
On August 10, 2020, Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s station conducted an enforcement stop on a gray Mercedes for a traffic violation. A records check revealed the Mercedes was stolen out of the city of San Jacinto. The occupants, Claire Miller and Eduardo Nieto, were taken into custody without incident. Claire Miller was also in possession of drug paraphernalia.
