VA establishes new threshold for reporting benefit and medical debt

The Department of Veterans Affairs published a final rule in the Federal Register, Feb. 2, amending VA’s procedures for reporting debt to consumer reporting agencies.

2022 Homeless Point-in-Time Count moves to Feb. 23 

The County of Riverside is moving the 2022 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count by 30 days due to the recent spike in coronavirus cases. The count is now scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 23, while the Youth Count is scheduled to run from Wednesday, Feb 23 through Friday, Feb 25. County staff from the Department of Housing and Workforce Solutions will continue their community planning efforts with local cities in preparation for the new date.

VA amplifies access to home, community-based services for eligible Veterans

The Department of Veterans Affairs’ Office of Geriatrics and Extended Care is expanding its Home-Based Primary Care, Medical Foster Home and Veteran-Directed Care programs to make them available at all VA medical centers by the end of fiscal year 2026.  

OPM affirms $15 minimum wage for federal civilian employees

The Office of Personnel Management will now pay all federal workers a minimum of at least $15 per hour. OPM’s guidance[CS1]  directs agencies on adjusting pay rates for General Schedule and Federal Wage System employees stationed in the U.S and how to use administrative authority for other pay systems, with implementation of the changes by Jan. 30.
