On December 18,2020, about 7:14 PM, La Quinta deputies responded to a call of a vehicle versus pedestrian hit and run traffic collision on Highway 111 west of Dune Palms Road in La Quinta. Investigation revealed an unknown driver was traveling westbound on Highway 111 west of Dune Palms Road and struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway. Life saving measures were rendered; however, the pedestrian, was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no witnesses, therefore there is no vehicle or suspect description. The decedent’s identity will be released by the Coroner’s Bureau.
