Fatal Traffic Collision – July 11, 2020

Temecula, CA, Calif. – On Saturday, July 11th, 2020, about 11:18 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Southwest Station, responded to Solana Way east of Calle Aranda, regarding a single-vehicle (motorcycle) traffic collision. Deputies arrived within minutes and located an unresponsive victim on the south curb in the eastbound lane of Solana Way. Deputies started life-saving measures and were relieved by arriving medics. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the motorcycle was traveling eastbound, in the eastbound lanes, at a high rate of speed on Solana Way. The driver lost control of the motorcycle and struck a tree before coming to rest. The identification of the decedent is being withheld pending Coroner’s notification of the next of kin.

The Southwest Station Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. During the investigation, Solana Way was closed between Calle Aranda and Del Rey Road for several hours.
