Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit have identified and arrested Joseph Samuel Runyon, 19-year-old male and Leslie Martinez, 36-year-old female, both residents of Desert Hot Springs as suspects in this investigation. Both suspects were booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center on homicide charges.

Details:

On June 16, 2022, at 10:17 p.m., deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a shooting on the 70200 block of Highway 111, in Rancho Mirage. Upon arriving, deputies located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The male victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. The victim was identified as Alejandro Suarez, a 43-year-old male resident of Rancho Mirage. A crime scene was secured and the Central Homicide Unit responded to assume the investigation. The investigation is on-going and investigators are working diligently to identify and locate a suspect(s).
