Growing up in the San Jacinto Valley, I remember the street of banks that had a claim to fame. The 74 and 79 brought visitors and economy through and into our restaurants, stores and to buy homes.
Dr. Stephen Marmer is a psychiatrist in Los Angeles and is affiliated with UCLA Medical Center. Years ago, I heard him on a radio talk show discussing what leads to maturity in individuals.
I remember growing up the idea of having to complete community service to graduate high school was passed around by classmates. My Mom told me that all of the volunteer work I did at the church we attended counted, and I logged those hours and turned them into my school. When I graduated, I was honored with an award and acknowledged as the "Riverside County Golden Citizen" award. It was cool to know that all of my volunteer work meant something.
Her looks and demean belie the streaks of grey and some sixty-plus years. She shows no signs of age. Ann Record is a human dynamo. Her eyes twinkle with mischief, ambition, and ‘let’s get on with the show.’ She is a real trooper who has devoted her whole life to the service of others in one manner or the other.
