US regulators OK genetically modified pig for food, drugs

U.S. regulators have approved a genetically modified pig for food and medical products, making it the second such animal to get the green light for human consumption. But the company behind it says there are no imminent plans to sell it for meat.

In the beginning of November, deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Stations Problem Oriented Policing Team received information of numerous outdoor marijuana cultivation sites in the hills near Lindell Road and Walsh Road. It was determined there were three separate locations spanning approximately 60 acres which was being used for illegal marijuana cultivation.

On Monday October 5, 2020, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) directed an operation targeting outdoor illegal marijuana cultivations in the unincorporated area of Anza. The operation was supported by members from California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
