I am not the first one to say this, and it is less prophetic than just observably true: Donald Trump is consistently putting his calculus of how he can win reelection over any commitment to protect the nation’s public health. The president clearly has no coherent strategy for addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, despite the recent surge across the country, and it’s clear that the health and lives of the people of the United States matter much less to him than his own political fortunes.
Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) Political Science major James Crawford has been named a 2020 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. The 18-year-old Hemet resident is one of only 207 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members nationwide to earn the honor this year.
In order to provide a quality instructional program for our students and staff families, we will be postponing our students’ start of the school year. The first day for students will be August 17, 2020, and the last day of school for students will be June 10, 2021.
