The Riverside County Hazardous Device Team along with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) responded to conduct the investigation.

Kohler booked on murder, hit-run death after Palm Avenue scooter crash

Mason Drew Kohler, 31, was booked on felony murder, hit-and-run death, and DUI charges, according to the Riverside County jail roster, which lists a Hemet PD arrest at Palm Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue. Hemet police say two pedestrians on an electric scooter were struck there about 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22; one was pronounced dead. Police have not named the driver, and the decedent's identity remains withheld.
