On April 23, 2023, investigators from the Central Homicide Unit identified the suspect in the murder of Giovanni Ibarra. David Diaz, a 39-year old male from Los Angeles, was located and arrested in the Otay Mesa area of the city of San Diego. Diaz was later booked for murder at the Robert Presley Detention Center.

On Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 2:57 p.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Station responded to a parking lot located in the 3500 block of Hamner Avenue, Norco, to check on the welfare of a male who was seated in a Dodge van.

On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at about 4:05 p.m. deputies of the Lake Elsinore Station responded to a carjacking in the parking lot of a school campus located on the 32000 block of Riverside Drive in the City of Lake Elsinore.

On April 12, 2023, about 06:00 p.m., the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST), Special Enforcement Team Gang Unit and Problem Oriented Policing Team, served a search warrant at a residence in the 24000 block of Lamont Drive, Moreno Valley.

The suspect in this case, Paul Galindo, was involved in an Officer Involved Shooting in the city of Redlands, on April 8, 2023, around 10:00 a.m. Galindo was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated and is in stable condition. Upon his discharge from the hospital, Galindo will be arrested for murder, and booked into a Riverside County jail.
