During the course of this investigation, multiple witness interviews were conducted, and corroborating evidence helped identified the suspect as Malik Minnix (49 of Eastvale), who was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) during the time of the incident. An arrest warrant for Minnix has been issued and the Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s help regarding the whereabouts of Malik Minnix.

On Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at 8:28 PM, deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to a call of a male suffering from a gunshot wound in the 23000 Block of Hemlock Ave. Upon arrival they located multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds.

During the course of this investigation, multiple witness interviews were conducted, surveillance camera footage was reviewed, and evidence was collected, leading to the identification of three suspects. Members from the Special Enforcement Bureau, Moreno Valley Station Burglary and Robbery Suppression Teams, and Problem Oriented Policing Team, served multiple search warrants in the cities of Moreno Valley and Hemet, on September 9, 2020.

Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) is calling on the Department of Defense Inspector General to conduct an investigation into the death of Army Spc. Vanessa Guillén. In a letter to Acting Inspector General O’Donnell, Dr. Ruiz and 86 other members of Congress urged a prompt and thorough review of the disappearance of Spc. Vanessa Guillén.

Saturday, June 27th, 2020, information obtained during this lengthy missing person/homicide investigation has led to the arrest of three suspects in connection with the murders of Audrey Moran and Jonathon Reynoso.
