A strong pro-life presence in the Valley has been evidenced by the recent opening of Planned Parenthood, along a major thoroughfare in Hemet. Honks and waves from passersby often accompany small groups that pray and protest outside the new abortion center. The “Prayerful Presence” Campaign is intended to alert the public to the presence of the Abortion facility and to peacefully pray for an end to Abortion in our Nation. Organizers believe that Abortion ends a precious life, but by offering hurting women options and loving care instead of abortion, mothers will choose to give life a chance.

I love reading through the Chronicle each week, but this week, reading the editorial by Bob Franken just had me bristling! According to Franken, the Republican Party is “a party that is now home to almost all bigots.”

Prosecuting sedition is hard, but it absolutely must be done

To the editor: I agree that those who participated in the assault on the U.S. Capitol deserve to be charged under federal sedition statutes. But I’m a little puzzled by columnist Harry Litman’s reference to seditious conspiracy only. (“Was the Capitol attack sedition? Pay attention to what the statute says,” Opinion, March 25)

I just finished reading a piece in the “Editorial & Opinion” page of The Chronicle - read through it twice actually - and just can’t help but comment. I realize by giving my opinion on this hot topic many will disagree with me, but hey, this is America! Free speech should be our password!
