SOBOBA FIRE ADDS TO FLEET

Sex Offender Compliance Operation

On Friday, October 30, 2020, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Cabazon Station conducted a Sex Offender Compliance Operation involving sex registrants residing in the communities of Cherry Valley, Cabazon, Whitewater, and the city of Calimesa. Deputies conducted compliance checks on 21 registered Sex Offenders who reside within these communities.

Blue Ridge Fire: Wind-driven fire burns 8,000 acres, forces evacuations in Riverside and Orange counties

A wind-driven brush fire that broke out on the west end of Corona in Riverside County and quickly spread into Orange County -- threatening homes in Yorba Linda and blackening 15,200 acres -- was 0% contained Tuesday.

Riverside Emergency Power Shutoffs Possible For 4,500 People

Southern California Edison said 4,775 customers in Riverside County could have their power shut off on Monday due to a forecast of strong winds that will elevate fire danger.

On-Duty Death

Our Department is saddened to announce the death of 48-year-old Sergeant Harry Cohen, most recently assigned to the Special Enforcement Bureau – Canine Unit. Sergeant Cohen passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020, after suffering a heart attack while on-duty. He began his service with our Department on September 30, 1996. As a deputy, he worked assignments at the Banning Station, Lake Elsinore Station, and Southwest Station.
