The 2021 Grammy Awards will no longer take place this month in Los Angeles and will broadcast in March due to a recent surge in coronavirus cases and deaths.

US shifts to speed COVID shots as cases and deaths rise

Facing a slower-than-hoped coronavirus vaccine rollout, the Trump administration abruptly shifted gears Tuesday to speed the delivery of shots to more people. The move came as cases and deaths surged to alarming new highs. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced a series of major changes to increase supply of vaccines, extend eligibility to more seniors and provide more locations for people to get shots.

Top military leaders remind troops of limits of free speech

Amid worry about renewed violence on Inauguration Day, the military's top leaders issued a written reminder to all service members Tuesday that the deadly insurrection at the Capitol last week was an anti-democratic, criminal act, and that the right to free speech gives no one the right to commit violence.

One dead after scooter riders struck on Palm Avenue; driver in custody

Two pedestrians on an electric scooter were struck near Palm and Commonwealth Avenue in Hemet about 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22. One was pronounced dead; the driver later returned and was taken into custody, Hemet police said. Impaired driving appears to be a factor; the investigation is ongoing.

Shooters Hemet restored to full permit; A placard, score 92

Shooters Sports Bar & Grill at 121 E. Florida Ave. was approved Sept. 22 to open back to full permit status, and the A placard was re-posted. The county report lists a manual score of 92, with no live or dead cockroach activity observed and a surveillance recheck by Sept. 29.
