Fatal Traffic Collision

On January 14, 2021, about 8:37 P.M, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department - Perris Station, responded to a report of a major injury traffic collision in the area of Goetz Road and Mapes Road, in the city of Perris. Deputies arrived within minutes and located a collision involving an adult male bicyclist.

Fugitive Arrest

On January 15, 2021, at 8:10 P.M., deputies assigned to the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), conducted an occupied vehicle check in the desert area north of Vista Del Norte and west of Dillon Road in the city of Coachella. Ezequiel Ortega Nava, 46 of Thermal, was found to be armed with a firearm and fled from deputies into a palm field.

Amazon seeks to keep right-wing app Parler offline

Seattle-based Amazon.com, Inc. has asked a federal judge to deny a request to reinstate the cloud-service account for conservative social media network Parler, claiming Parler shrugged off police violence content on its site before and after the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

HEMET CITY COUNCIL TERMINATES LONG TIME CITY ATTORNEY

By a 3-2 vote, the City of Hemet terminated the services of long time City Attorney Eric Vail to take effect immediately and in replacing him interim City Attorney, Steven Graham from Cole Huber LLP. A permanent selection will be in completing an RFP process. A number of actions were taken and approved in public session.
