Marathon runners talk about hitting the wall. It happens about 18 to 20 miles into a race. All of a sudden, fatigue hits, along with negative thoughts. It’s a feeling that you can’t go on any longer; you’ve reached the end of your rope.

Just after 7:30 on the night of October 9, the life of a beloved local store owner and clerk was snuffed out as Mohamad “Mike” Suliman was senselessly murdered.

It’s time to celebrate colorful falling leaves and cooling weather with fun seasonal activities. The good news? You don’t have to travel far from home to get your fall fix.

Despite unusually heavy rains during the past year, we are acutely aware that recurring droughts, dependence on imported water and climate variation all affect the availability of water locally and throughout the state.

Maybe – just maybe – Americans will get some relief from the relentlessly rising prices of pharmaceuticals.
