California Executive Order N-64-20 requires that each county’s elections official send vote-by-mail ballots for the November 3, 2020 General Election to all registered voters. Californians who may need access to in-person voting opportunities - including individuals with disabilities, individuals who speak languages other than English, individuals experiencing homelessness, and others - will still be able to access in-person voting opportunities.

Online learning isn’t for everyone. But for many students, it’s a solution that works. Growing up, the teachers I had in my brick-and-mortar school promoted me to a new grade in the middle of the school year. While I was challenged academically, I wasn’t prepared for the difficulties of being with a new class and the bullying I experienced.

The pandemic has upended the world as we know it in nearly every aspect of our lives — our jobs, schools, and social lives have had to drastically change to fit the new normal. With the unemployment rate at a historic high, paired with legally mandated stay-at-home orders, many Americans have found themselves in a difficult situation, as paying rent has never been more difficult yet necessary.

Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) is calling on President Donald Trump to extend the expanded unemployment benefits made available under H.R. 748, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. In a letter to President Trump, Dr. Ruiz and 109 other members of the House of Representatives urged an extension of these expanded benefits, which are set to expire at the end of the month.

What do you expect your tomorrow to be? Youth looks ahead to being grown up. Young people dream of being movie stars or professional athletics or Olympic champions. Most Americans are at heart optimistic people. We hope for and we work towards providing a better life for our children.
