In-Custody Death Investigation
On Saturday March 11, 2023, at 4:15 P.M. deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office-Cois Byrd Detention Center were called to the cell of an unresponsive male inmate.
Attempted Robbery/Assault with a Deadly Weapon
On February 14, 2023, approximately 7:00 PM, Riverside Sheriff’s Southwest Station deputies responded to a business in the 40800 block of Winchester Road in the City of Temecula, reference an attempted robbery.

It was a relief to learn that Fresno police and FBI agents teamed up to arrest five people as suspects in a series of bombings in the city. As Bee staff writer Jim Guy reported, a task force of local police and FBI agents also seized bomb-making components, firearms and methamphetamine.

During the course of this investigation, one of the suspects was identified as Jose Daniel Aguilar, 29 years of Orange. Aguilar was arrested on March 5, 2023, after a traffic stop in the city of Moreno Valley.

On March 6, 2023, at 5:20 p.m., deputies assigned to the Riverside Sheriff’s Perris Station responded to the 28000 block of Whitaker Ln., in Winchester, to check the welfare on a male subject.
