Felon in Possession of a Firearm
On January 30, 2021, at 3:45 PM, Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 were patrolling in the 52000 block of Date Street, Cabazon, and located 50-year-old John Trujillo holding a rifle. Trujillo was ordered to drop the rifle and he complied. Gang Task Force Officers retrieved the rifle and learned the rifle was loaded and operational.
Stolen Vehicle and Forgery
On January 28, 2021, at 9:08 PM, Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 conducted a traffic stop on a U-Haul box van in the 600 block of American Avenue in the City of Beaumont. A record check of the U-Haul’s license plate confirmed the U-Haul was a reported stolen vehicle.
Gang Related Search Warrants
On February 4, 2021 at approximately 5:00 AM, members of the Murrieta-Temecula Regional Gang Task Force coordinated the service of three residential search warrants in the cities of Temecula, Lake Elsinore, and Hemet. Participating teams included the Banning / Beaumont Gang Task Force, Perris / Lake Elsinore Gang Task Force, Hemet / San Jacinto Gang Task Force, Jurupa Valley Gang Task Force, Central Post-release Accountability and Corrections Team, the Riverside Sheriff Department’s Corrections Intelligence Bureau, and the Riverside Sheriff Department’s Temecula Special Enforcement Teams.
Possession of Narcotics
On February 3, 2021, at 2:00 PM, Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 conducted a pedestrian check on 38-year-old Banning resident Juan Carlos Garcia in the 500 block of West Ramsey Street, Banning. Garcia was standing next to a vehicle and upon seeing the Gang Task Force Officers, Garcia quickly closed the trunk.
Kidnapping
On February 9, 2021, deputies from the Lake Elsinore station responded to the 33000 block of El Contento Drive, Lake Elsinore, regarding a possible assault. Through their investigation, deputies gathered information from the victim she was driven from the Hemet area to Lake Elsinore.
