California's amusement parks have been pining to reopen for months, hoping to bring back thousands of workers sent home in March when the coronavirus pandemic forced them to close their gates. Now that state health officials announced strict new rules for reopening the parks, attractions spanning from Disneyland to Universal Studios are bracing for an even longer shutdown — and so are the surrounding communities lined with hotels, restaurants and shops that cater to visitors who no longer walk their streets.
With great sadness, the Historic Hemet Theatre has announced the death of Program Director Bryan Carrier. Bryan died peacefully in his home on Sunday October 18th. Bryan’s health had declined during the Covid-19 quarantine, steadily draining his strength.
About 8,400 peaches and apples were distributed during the annual San Jacinto Valley Academy Peachpalooza and new tradition, the Peachpalooza Cooking Festival, which created remote opportunities for students and their families to connect through a shared experience and reflection.
Fall was in the air as carloads of kids enjoyed a drive-through event at the Soboba Sports Complex on Oct. 24. From 6 to 9 p.m., vehicles made their way through a maze of about 30 candy-laden stops during the tribal community’s Halloween Trunk or Treat event.
