On November 29, 2020, deputies responded to the 18400 block of Collier Avenue, Lake Elsinore, regarding an alarm at ULTA Beauty Supply. Upon their arrival, they determined a burglary had occurred. A search for a suspect vehicle was initiated. California Highway Patrol (CHP) located a vehicle matching the description and attempted to stop the vehicle. After a short pursuit, CHP detained two individuals; Jose Pallares, a 35 year-old male from San Bernardino and Tony Carrasco, a 21 year-old male from Rialto.  CHP located items of evidence linking both subjects to the burglary.

Deputies from the Lake Elsinore station responded to CHP’s location and detained Pallares and Carrasco. Representatives from ULTA met with deputies and stated the amount of recovered stolen property was valued at approximately $25,000. Pallares and Carrasco were booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center for burglary, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools. A bail enhancement was authored by deputies and approved by a judge for both Pallares and Carrasco in the amount of $75,000.
