Creative Crafters’ FC Now Accepting New Members AND Holding March Madness Garage Sale!

The Creative Crafters Friendship Club of So.Cal. is welcoming new members this winter, and holding a March Madness 2020 Garage Sale Fundraiser from Thursday, March 12th through the 14th. There may even be yummy baked treats available!

All So. Cal. area creative or artsy-curious Seniors over 55 are eligible and welcomed to join us at 9 am to attend our usual (no charge!) Friday morning meetings at the Camelot Retirement Ctr. (DJ Room, 800 W. Oakland Ave. at Palm St., in Hemet).

We have been creating low-cost handmade items and projects for ourselves, and service projects for others throughout our communities since 1988!

We also have guest speakers, so no telling what you could learn! Please join us for fun, friendship, and a chance to exercise your creativity with others!

San Jacinto Valley students honored in January

The Hemet/San Jacinto Student of the Month program held its most recent recognition breakfast at the Maze Stone at Soboba Springs Golf Course on Jan. 18. Seven local high school seniors were recognized and honored for their character, love of learning and commitment to academics in addition to their involvement in school and community activities and their ability to overcome difficult life circumstances.

Soboba celebrates with sweets and hearts

Valentine’s Day brought out lots of pink and red hearts throughout the Soboba Indian Reservation as preschoolers to teenagers celebrated the extra sweet holiday on Feb. 14.

Hemet Film Festival: “Necessity Breeds Creativity”

During a sunny Saturday in Southern California, the first official Hemet Film Festival took place at the Historic Hemet Theatre on Florida Ave. On November 11th, 2023, audiences filled the red theater seats for a day spent watching movies directed by local filmmakers.
