JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A driver was killed when a vehicle struck a tree in Jurupa Valley, authorities said Sunday.
Deputies responded to a report of an accident in the area of Riverview Drive and Rios Road shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities said it was not yet known whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
Riverview Drive was temporarily closed between Rios Road and Peralta Avenue for the investigation, sheriff’s officials said.
