On February 23, 2023, Thermal Station patrol units responded to the 45900 block of Adams Street in the city of La Quinta regarding a robbery that occurred at 8:20 PM. The investigation revealed a white male adult approached a 24-year-old La Quinta resident, assaulted him, and stole his wallet and cellular phone. The suspect fled the area, and the victim’s property was not located. The victim sustained minor injuries during the robbery. The Thermal Station Special Investigations Unit assumed the investigation.

During the investigation, the suspect was positively identified as Skylar Brannen-Grove, a 27-year-old resident of La Quinta. On February 24, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit located Brannen-Grove, in the 46300 block of Roudel Lane, in the city of La Quinta. Brannen-Grove was taken into custody without incident.

Brannen-Grove was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio for robbery.
