The victim in this case was identified as 65-year-old Steven Fineran, and the female suspect was identified as the victim’s girlfriend, 67-year-old Dani Runyan, both residents of Perris. Runyan was arrested for murder and booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center.

On Friday, September 29, 2023, at 6:09 p.m., deputies assigned to the Perris Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 18000 block of Alexander Street, in an unincorporated area of Perris known as Mead Valley.

On Friday, September 22, 2023, at 5:52 p.m., deputies from the Lake Mathews Sheriff Station responded to the 17000 block of Van Buren Boulevard in the unincorporated area of Woodcrest regarding a robbery.

On September 3, 2023, at 2:11 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon at Barbara Street and Dracaea Avenue. When deputies arrived, they located two victims who were deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

On September 1, 2023, at about 8:57 p.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff Station responded to a residence in the 300 block of W. First St., Perris, regarding a report of a shooting victim.
