In-Custody Death

On August 14, 2023, at 12:36 a.m., deputies from the John Benoit Detention Center found an unresponsive male in a housing unit cell. Custody staff and jail medical personnel immediately administered life-saving measures. Paramedics responded and assumed life-saving measures. However, he was ultimately pronounced deceased.

Homicide

On August 14, 2023, at about 1:51 a.m., deputies from the Thermal Sheriff Station were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the parking lot in the 78900 block of Highway 111, La Quinta.

Shooting Investigation

On Friday, August 11, 2023, at 10:21 AM, deputies from the Lake Mathews Sheriff Station responded to the 19400 block of Ontario Avenue in the unincorporated area of Riverside County known as El Cerrito, regarding a shooting that just occurred.

Homicide

In August of 2021, Investigators from the Cabazon Station began looking into the disappearance of Dillon Entler, a 31-year-old male from Cabazon. Entler was reported missing by family members who had not seen or heard from him in three days.

Attempt Murder

On July 27, 2023, about 6:33 AM, deputies assigned to the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station responded to the undeveloped desert area near Bonita Avenue and Elm Street in Cabazon regarding an unknown trouble.
