Man killed in officer-involved shooting on I-10 identified as Idyllwild resident

The Riverside County Coroner's Office has released the identity of the man killed in an officer-involved shooting last week on Interstate 10 in Palm Springs.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon

On Tuesday, October 5th, 2021, San Jacinto deputies responded to the 800 block of Main Street, in the city of San Jacinto, regarding a shooting. When deputies arrived in the area, a victim with non-life-threatening wounds was located in the area of 7th Street and San Jacinto Avenue. Cal-Fire paramedics were summoned to the location and transported him to a local hospital. At the original scene, deputies located several bullet casings and damage to a vehicle.
