Soboba’s Geneva Mojado receives Warrior Award

The American Indian Chamber of Commerce recently awarded Soboba Tribal Council Vice-Chairwoman Geneva Mojado with the Warrior Award during its 24th annual Native American Heritage Month fundraiser luncheon. Usually in November, this year’s event was held Dec. 1 at the Grand Californian Hotel, Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.

Soboba celebrates at Rose Salgado Elementary School groundbreaking

The decision to name San Jacinto Unified School District’s eighth elementary school after Soboba Tribal Member and community leader Rose Salgado was made by a unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees in April 2022. Hundreds of supporters and friends, along with members of Salgado’s family, gathered at the official groundbreaking ceremony for the school on Dec. 11 at 600 N. Vernon Ave. in San Jacinto.

Soboba spreads Christmas joy with toys

Thousands of children will wake up on Christmas morning to a new toy thanks to the generosity of the Soboba Foundation and the Soboba Casino Resort. This year, Hemet and San Jacinto unified school districts each received 1,000 toys to distribute to identified students in the valley.

Soboba Indian Health Clinic appreciates its patients

Although Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health Inc. has been hosting Patient Appreciation Day events for more than a dozen years, Nov. 15 marked the first time one was held at the new Soboba Indian Health Clinic, which opened in March.
