Soboba TANF members enjoy learning about STEM

The annual American Indian Science and Engineering Society National Conference is a one-of-a-kind, three-day event focusing on educational, professional and workforce development. Attendees include Indigenous high school and college students, educators, professionals, Tribal nations and Tribal enterprises, universities, corporations and government agencies.

Halloween comes early to Soboba

From beautiful princesses to scary clowns, visitors to events at the Soboba Indian Reservation got an early start on the Halloween holiday. Children from the Soboba Tribal Preschool were invited to a Trunk or Treat morning on Oct. 19. Many departments and a few Tribal member families hosted themed trunks and provided lots of treats for the students and their siblings.

Jimmie Nunez Jr. always dreamed of being a professional boxer but didn’t pursue it until he was 26 years old. Now 28, he has seven professional fights under his belt and has more to come.

Soboba Tribal Environmental Department hosts Talking Circle

In an effort to assess climate adaptation on the Soboba Indian Reservation, Soboba Tribal Environmental Department Director Christian Aceves and his team hosted a Talking Circle on Sept. 14. In partnership with SoCalGas, a presentation about the past, present and future challenges was provided to Tribal and community members and Soboba employees.

Soboba Summer Program offers fun and education

Soboba Parks and Recreation presented its Summer Program for Tribal and community youth aged 6-11 and more than 50 signed up for the popular program. The five-week program from June 12 through July 17 offered a variety of activities to keep them engaged from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
