On Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 5:45 AM, deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 8700 block of Mission Boulevard, in the city of Jurupa Valley, regarding a burglary in-progress. When deputies arrived, the suspect fled to a nearby property. A perimeter was established in the area southeast of Mission Boulevard and Pedley Road.
On Friday, November 26, 2021, at 1:51 AM, deputies responded to a business in the 4000 block of N. Perris Boulevard in Perris for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies arrived within minutes and located an unconscious adult male with traumatic injuries.
On November 24, 2021, at about 1:45 PM, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded to the 1600 block of Setting Sun Circle, in unincorporated Corona, to investigate a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in progress. The victim, a 32-year-old male, suffered moderate injuries during the attack from the suspect, who was identified as Amy Alhindi, a 42-year-old female resident of the unincorporated area of Corona.
In the spring following 9/11, the War on Terror had already begun, and I was taking a college course on the Vietnam War. It was a unique course for the time, as most of us didn’t attend the live class, but students were given a choice to purchase the lectures on DVD or, as I did, go to the library and watch them on VHS.
