Carjacking Arrest – Monday, August 31, 2020

On Monday, August 31, 2020, at 10:39 AM a carjacking at gunpoint was reported in the area of Avenue 78 and Fillmore Street, within the unincorporated area of Thermal.  At about 5:36 PM the suspect vehicle was located by deputies in the area of Calhoun Street and Airport Boulevard.  A vehicle stop was attempted and a pursuit was initiated after the vehicle attempted to evade deputies. 

The vehicle pursuit terminated in the area of Polk Street and Avenue 78 with the suspects fleeing on foot.  After a search of the area, Victor Olivas, 26 of North Shore and Francisco Razo, 24 of North Shore were taken into custody without incident.  Olivas was arrested for carjacking, conspiracy to commit a crime, evading an officer and resisting arrest.  Razo was arrested for carjacking, conspiracy to commit a crime and resisting arrest.  Both were booked into the jail.
