The decedent has been identified as 57-year-old Sandra Mayor, a resident of Palm Desert. Sandra Mayor’s husband, 53-year-old Thomas Daniels, is a person of interest, and his whereabouts are unknown.
If anyone has information on Thomas Daniels’ location, please call Riverside Sheriff’s Dispatch by calling 911 and do not attempt to contact or detain Daniels.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 9:06 AM, deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to a residence in the 42000 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Palm Desert to check on the welfare of a resident after they did not arrive to work earlier in the morning. Deputies accessed the residence and located a deceased adult female with traumatic injuries. Deputies secured the area and began an investigation.
Investigators from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station and the Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. The decedent’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
