Providing False Information to Law Enforcement

On Friday, August 20, 2021, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department (Palm Desert Station) received information from a citizen that a female juvenile was a victim of child neglect and sexual assault. These serious allegations set in motion hundreds of staff-hours, by several law enforcement agencies, in two separate states.

Homicide

During the course of this investigation, three suspects were identified in the murder of victim, Jamon Hampton. The suspects are Maurice Williamson, 31 years of Riverside, Davonte Rowe, 24 years of Riverside, and DaRon Hooks II, 20 years of Riverside.

In-Custody Death Investigation

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, approximately 1:05 am, deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department-Robert Presley Detention Center, conducted a routine security check of a housing unit. During the security check, jail staff discovered an unresponsive male inmate. Custody staff along with medical staff immediately responded to the cell and began administering life-saving measures. Cal Fire and American Medical Response (AMR) responded and subsequently after further life-saving measures, the inmate was pronounced deceased on scene.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon

On August 15, 2021, at approximately 2:00 p.m., San Jacinto deputies responded to the 800 block of Minor Street, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arriving, they located a 36-year-old resident of San Jacinto, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Homicide – August 6, 2021

On August 6, 2021, at about 4:02 p.m., deputies assigned to the Perris Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 22800 block of Rios Ave., Mead Valley.
