Drowning – October 4, 2020

On Sunday, October 4, 2020, at 3:59 PM, Canyon Lake deputies responded to the north area of Canyon Lake, for a report of a drowning. Eyewitnesses stated the victim a 20-year-old, male and resident of the Los Angeles area, swam out to the middle of the lake from the north shore. The male appeared to be in distress and submerged underwater.

Homicide – October 5, 2020

On Monday, October 5, 2020, at 12:19 PM, deputies from the Perris Station responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 22000 Block of John Street in Meadow Brook. Upon arrival, they located a deceased male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Body of Lost Hiker Found – October 3, 2020

On October 3, 2020, about 1:27 P.M., deputies from the Thermal station received a call of a missing hiker in the La Quinta Cove hiking trail. The hiker had left on October 1, 2020, and did not return home.

Homicide – October 3, 2020

On Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 8:25 AM, deputies responded to the 17500 block of Palowalla Road in Blythe's unincorporated area for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies arrived and found the involved persons left the area. Shortly thereafter, deputies received information a victim had been taken to an area hospital for injuries due to the assault.

Indoor Marijuana Cultivation Search Warrants – October 3, 2020

On Saturday, October 3, 2020, personnel from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station served two search warrants related to illegal indoor residential marijuana grows. During the warrant service, a total of approximately 1,920 plants were eradicated from these residences. A total combined weight of approximately two tons of marijuana was collected.
