On Monday, August 1, 2022, at 9:28 PM, deputies from the San Jacinto and Hemet Station responded to a residence in the 1900 block of Meridian Street in San Jacinto in reference to a report of two females who had been shot at the location.
On July 29, 2022, Investigators received positive identification of the victim. The victim has been identified as Jesus M. Hernandez, a 35-year-old resident of Coachella. Investigators have made next of kin notification. Based on the on-going investigation, this case is being investigated as a homicide.
On July 15, 2022, at 6:55 a.m., deputies assigned to the Palm Desert Sheriff Station were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon call in a hotel parking lot, in the 72300 block of Highway 111, Palm Desert.

Upon arrival, deputies located adult subjects with significant sharp force trauma to their bodies.
Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit have identified and arrested Joseph Samuel Runyon, 19-year-old male and Leslie Martinez, 36-year-old female, both residents of Desert Hot Springs as suspects in this investigation.
