On April 18th, 2020 Thermal Station deputies responded to a reported shooting, which occurred in the area of Las Lunas Avenue and Rio Rancho Court in Coachella. The Thermal Station Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation and recently identified a person of interest. On today’s date a residential search warrant was served in the 80800 block of Boulder Avenue in the City of Indio.

The search warrant yielded multiple, illegally possessed semi-automatic rifles, a shot gun, 2 kilograms of heroin, ammunition, and cash. Daniel Vargas, 34 years of Indio was arrested and later booked at the county jail in Indio for multiple violations.
