Burglary Arrest

On December 10, 2020, La Quinta Special Enforcement Team deputies conducted a follow-up investigation that stemmed from a burglary occurred at a storage facility located on the 46000 block of Adams Street, in La Quinta. Deputies confirmed at least three additional burglaries occurred at the same location.

On December 12, 2020, deputies located and arrested the suspects in a stolen rental vehicle at a local shopping center; stolen items from the burglaries were found in the vehicle. Deputies later served a property related search warrant at the 78000 block of Avenida La Torres, in La Quinta and seized numerous stolen items linked to the burglaries. Joseph John Romero, 39 of New Mexico, and Diana Romero, 46 of New Mexico, were booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center.
